Cowboys' KaVontae Turpin showcases blazing speed during camp highlight

The Dallas Cowboys opted not to utilize the explosive KaVontae Turpin much on the offensive side of the ball last season. And with a new weapon in the passing game in wide receiver Brandin Cooks, along with the full return to health from Michael Gallup and rumblings of a potential breakout for second-year wideout Jalen Tolbert, you'd be hard-pressed to bet too much on Turpin finding many touches again on offense this season.

But the 27-year-old appears to be at least making a case for hearing his number called a bit more during the regular season. While Turpin is an explosive returner and is expected to hold that role going into 2023, a few glimpses of his playmaking on offense in various training camp clips have grabbed plenty of attention.

As seen in a camp clip posted by The Athletic's Jon Machota, Turpin appears to receive the pitch on the outside and literally has no issue utilizing a tiny bit of space and making it look like he had room to run with ease.

Although it's only one clip, it's a nice reminder that Turpin is one of the "under the radar" offensive weapons the Cowboys have up their sleeve and could deploy at any moment. As camp rolls on, this Dallas offensive unit appears to be in a position to make a real case for the best we've seen with Dak Prescott at the helm.
