Titans QB Will Levis delighted with new signees, says Tennessee isn’t afraid to ‘make investments’

“For one, it means that they’re not afraid to make those investments and they want to go win, which is awesome to see,” Levis said Thursday during a media availability.

Levis and Ridley are already working out together as quarterback and receiver try to build an unspoken chemistry. Boyd, the former Bengal, needs to officially sign all the paperwork before he can begin practicing with Levis.

Of course, the Titans signed DeAndre Hopkins last year, so he’s still around to catch passes from Levis. And Tennessee still has receiver Treylon Burks, the team’s first round pick from 2022.

“It’s going to be great for all of us and just great to have that environment of competitiveness,” Levis told reporters. “And everyone’s going to get better because of it.”

The Titans hired Callahan because of his offensive mind. The 39-year-old came over from the Bengals, where he’d been the offensive coordinator since 2019. He had some really good offenses there when quarterback Joe Burrow was healthy. His dad is Bill Callahan, the former head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Plus, he served a stint as head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The elder Callahan now coaches the offensive line for his son.

“He’s really gotten better in a short amount of time because of the way he approaches his job,” Callahan said. “And that’s all you can ask for at this point of year,” Callahan said.

The Titans used Levis, the second pick of last year’s second round, when Ryan Tannehill was injured. Then Tennessee kept Levis as the starter. The rookie won three of his starts. The team management stayed committed to Levis. The Titans didn’t extend Tannehill’s contract. He still hasn’t found another team.
